You are the owner or manager of a growth-oriented company in the field of wood-processing or furniture industry (including accessories) with preferably 10 to 250 employees.
You are dedicated and motivated to develop your company and create jobs through business expansion
Individual qualification: You have a good command of English and at least two years of experience in management positions.

In September 2021, we will start a SME Training and Exchange Programme for wood-processing and furniture production companies as part of a two-year project supported by the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Special Initiative, which operates under the brand Invest for Jobs, is implemented among others by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
During the programme, we want to support Ghanaian SMEs to increase their productivity and competitiveness, in order to create jobs for skilled workers.
1. How can you benefit from the programme? This programme is free of cost for participating Ghanaian SMEs
During the programme you will get training on leadership and management.
You will benefit from exchanges with German experts and businesses.
You will join a strong network with local and German companies.
2. What’s the timeline of the programme?
September 2021: Two-week workshop in Ghana with local and German experts. During this workshop, experts will analyse your business and products. Supported by experienced business coaches, you will develop a strategy to improve the productivity and competitiveness of your company. Each company can assign two representatives for this workshop. Delivery of this workshop may be online, offline or a mixture of both, dependent on the COVID-19 situation in Ghana and Germany.
March 2022: Two-week programme in Germany with company visits and trainings. During this programme, we will offer you practical exposure to benchmark companies of your branch. You will get first-hand information about production, quality management and supply chain management in German companies. Each participating company can assign one representative for this programme.
Until May 2022: Follow-up phase with peer and expert coaching for a successful implementation of action plans. During this phase we will support you with implementation of new processes and initiating change projects. A three-day workshop in Ghana will mark the end of the programme. During this workshop you will have the opportunity to meet with participants from other programmes in this project.
3. Who can participate in this programme?
You are owner or manager of a growth-oriented SME in the field of wood-processing or furniture production with preferably 10 to 250 employees.
You are dedicated and motivated to grow your company and create jobs through business expansion within the next years.
