Applications to join the second cohort of the Lafiya Innovators are open, are you or do you know someone leading a startup that will help make your local community healthier? Lafiya Innovators could be the right fit for that startup.
Lafiya Innovators is a startup incubation program to support and accelerate early- to mid-stage startups in emerging economies – focused on public health, healthcare, or directly impacting the determinants of health. Startups applying to join the cohort in Accra should be able to demonstrate recurring revenue, a good team and governance structure, and have a direct impact on SDG 3, Health and Wellbeing. REQUIREMENTS TO JOIN THE ACCRA TRACK
The startup must be registered and based in Ghana
Open to ECOWAS residents, age 18+ (must reside in Accra for the entire six-month duration of the program at own expense)
One individual per startup may apply and participate (even if representing a larger team)
Ideal for growth, mid-stage, and scaling ventures
Must have an active business or NGO venture already working with customers
Must be available for participation 5-6 hours per week for six months (June 2021 – December 2021)
Must be available full-time for specific weeks (dates provided in advance)
Must be available to attend a Swiss Innovation Immersion week in Switzerland for one week in November 2021 (Travel expenses are covered according to program guidelines)
Must be prepared to pitch during “Demo Day” within the duration of the program
Professional-level English is required for participation in the program
